Bed Bug Treatment Preparation Checklist for Tenants: Remove bedding and wash/dry on high heat; clear out items under beds and around baseboards; empty closets and dressers but do not wash clothing or linens until after initial treatment (bag and keep away from walls); bag all personal hygiene items (toothbrushes, combs, hair brushes, tampons, pads, wipes, toilet paper, etc.) in ziplock bags; vacuum thoroughly and dispose of vacuum bags/contents outside; move furniture 18 inches from walls; remove pets for at least 4 hours; cover/remove fish tanks and turn off air pumps; cover/remove food and dishes; notify landlord or pest control provider of allergies.
